Coop had grandparents day at school last Friday and then Nana took him home for some fun!

They made a tent in the den.

They played tree ball!!!

They made cookies. The knee on the counter really helps with painting the icing on!

Coop and Nana make cookies from scratch at least once a month! He loves to bake with her.

They even planted! Coop and Nana went to the bank and the teller gave Cooper seeds. Not sure what we will end up with, but he is proud of it!

We are so blessed to have such great parents that make perfect GRANDPARENTS!!!!

Sorry I did not do well taking pics on Christmas morning! But here are a few. We had a great Christmas, it was very low key and relaxing. Cooper did not even know what to think. He was just in shock looking at everything. Wish I would have taken a picture of the look on his face when he came into the den to see what Santa had left.

Christmas Program

On Thursday Cooper had his annual Christmas Program. This sweet little girl is "livia"

Olivia is Coopers best best buddy at school. She is a fireball and they have a blast together. This is the little girl that Coop came home from school and said "me and livia sleep in housekeeping during nap time"!!!!

Yes he has Uggs on! He hates dress shoes so we setteled on the Uggs, problem is I told him the pant go over the shoes! As you can see that is not how he wanted them!

This is at home before the show! I pleaded, compromised, begged, and bargained to get him "dress clothes" only to arrrive at the show and he has the sweatshirt on! You would think since we are repeating I would have known that!!

Oh well he sure is CUTE though!!

First Weekend in December

We have just finished the first weekend in December. If they all are this full and go by as quick as this one it will be January before I know it.

We started Friday night at Coops first Basketball game. I had a work emergency and was a little late. I heard he did great till I got there! I think it was because he spent Thursday night with my mom because we had a Ptolemy Christmas Party so I had not seen him from Thursday am to Friday night!! He just missed me and wanted to sit with me instead of on the bench!!

Christine and Ryan Groves went with us to the Blues Ball again this year. We do not have many pics b/c the Groves had a little camera mishap but here our a few that Libby took before. Yes it is like prom!! Yes we even had Bob drive us downtown and drop us off!!

Christine and I spent the afternoon getting our makeup done at Joesph's..so fun..they serve Champagne while they make you up! Not such a great pic of me but oh well. Christine looks awesome!

Then Coop was picked up on Sunday for a trip to Shelby Forrest with Bob and Libby. He said "it was so fun MOM" when he got home. He pet a King Snake and came home with Owl feathers. He took his basketball and granddaddy took him to practice bball at the Racquet Club after. Granddaddy has been taking him about once a week and he does well because he will listen to him much better!

Happy December! We will see what this next weekend brings!

YEAH AN UPDATE!!!

So I have been MIA for many reasons. First because I lost my camera. Not a clue where it went!! So thanks to black Friday I bought a new one at Target for $88.00. Most of you know how much I love black Friday!! I got one deal of the century at Home Depot. I have wanted a heater for my deck for a long time. Martin found one in the ad for $99.00 regularly $180.00. I went to purchase it and the lady told me if I opened an account I would receive an additional $50.00 off so I now own this for a grand total of $45.33!!

We had a party last Saturday night and showed the UT game outside, well this heater kept my whole deck warm. So fun!! I have also been MIA because Jr. League is kicking my butt. I chaired the Charity Shopping Pass with over 90 retailers and many passes to sell. It ended last week now I am finally about to wrap it up. Oh yeah and I do have a full time job where we have been short one Family Teaching Director, so I have been managing 14 homes for the past 2 months!! But that too is getting better, we hired a new person and I slowly back down to 9 homes.

We had a great Thanksgiving. Kat and Stew, John and Larkin were all in town. We spent a lot of time together and enjoyed every minute of it! Here are some pics from zoo lights.

Sorry for the lapse in updates!! We bees busy around here!! Work is killing me at the moment. Anyway..
Coop spent this past weekend with Nana and Granddaddy. We first went boot shopping with them Saturday morning. Coop got some new black cowboy boots with green flames on the side. I have lost my camera so unless Libby took a pic of them you will have to wait to see them! Mom got a new pair too, so fun!
Then Coop asked to go to Zoo Boo, so Nana and Granddaddy took the Teenage Mutant Nija Turtle to the zoo...I laughed out loud when I saw these pics from Libby(Nana). Either Coop insisted the shell be in the front or this is one upside down turtle!!

Nana and Granddaddy took him to Mud Island on Sunday. I have heard this is a great field trip, I have not been here since I was little.

Coop on the monorail, he was so excited telling me that it was a train with the tracks on the top instead of the bottom! No Coop they do not make anything like that at Target!!

Mud Island is a winding path laid out like a map of the United States. At the end you end up in Gulf of Mexico. Coop loved hopping from state to state!

Cooper's first soccer game for the fall season was last Friday night. Wow what a difference a year makes. Last year it was a struggle getting the cleats on now you can not get him off the field! After much reservation I let Martin coach again! He is done well, especially since Coop is listening and playing much better! We have a great time because the games are Friday nights at 5:30. Then we all head out for pizza and cocktails to celebrate our win! We actually never lose b/c they do not keep score!!

This was last spring! Wow Coop has grown!!

Fashion Show

This is why I do what I do. When I taught at Madonna, I had many moments where I could stop and think this is why I do what I do. I have not had as many with my new job, but Saturday was one of the best by far! I am now on the administrator side of things, so I spend many hours dealing with staff and not as much with the clients. I am happy though that this week I should be spending most of my time in the houses and with my clients! Anyway Saturday we had a Family meeting and Fashion Show. Our exec director is leaving so we had a farewell day! These are pics of some of my clients that I work with. It was such a wonderful day. They were so stinkin cute! They did a great job and I was so proud of them. Like I said it was one of those moments, when I could stop and say this makes all the headaches worth it!

Miss Diva, I asked her if I could take a pic, she did a turn and put her hand on her hip! It was hysterical!!

I know we are not suppose to have favorites, but a teacher would be lieing if she said she didn't. This is one of two favs. She is nonverbal and deaf. She can be very feisty, but I love her hands down! She is an incredible sewer, she can make anything. She also makes little bags and sales them for $3. Of course I have a few!

Second fav is in this pic, I love the guy to the right of me! He has an amazing story on how he ended up with WTFS, he was homeless, an alc0holic, and married. Now he is so stable and such a great guy!

GIRL.....

HA!! HA!!! We have a new member of the Shannon team..her name is Madge. She is 5 months old and officially Coops dog. She sleeps in his room and he walks her everyday! Madge, where in the world did that come from...hmm...Thomas the Trains of course!

No they do not really look alike but Coop relates everything to a train!

She has been here for fours days and we love her. She is very sweet! She is hyper which Coop and Beau are loving! Believe it or not Bailey actually likes her!

Now we officially have three dogs, a turtle, a fish, 2 adults, and 1 little boy all living in 1300 sqft! Next on the list a bigger house!

First Trip to Build a Bear

So we have never been to Build a Bear, so Nana decided it would be a fun thing to do before I left Destin. Well Coop decided to do a Panda Bear. He is waiting patiently here for his turn, he is not quite sure what it is all about..

Yes so we visit the zoo literally every week. Well atleast someone takes Coop once a week! It is his favorite place. He knows all animals, most by name, he has favorites..he even has a certain order in which he wants to view them! This week he is suppose to be at zoo camp, but he is home sick today with strep! Oh Well whats new!!

Santa Rosa Beach

My mother in law, Libby, Cooper, cousin John and I left two Saturdays ago for a trip to the beach. Through out the week the rest of the fam joined us. Aunt Kat, Uncle Stew, Larkin, Granddaddy Bob and Martin.

The boys loved this boat. We had to buy another one because they continued to fight over them. As you can see below John is attempting to take it so Coop decides to throw sand in it! Coop wanted to know where the motor was, like his daddies Master Crab. Yes he calls the boat a Master Crab!

The Shannon's Mudfest

So I watched the weather everyday for over a week and prayed for no rain. Well the Thursday before the party it looked as though it was going to rain all weekend. Martin quickly called a friend a we got a huge tent that covered about half of the backyard. We put a tent on the deck and a tent connecting the deck to the large tent to try to keep everyone dry. It really was not just a rain. It was a monsoon the entire weekend. Needless to say it was a wild MUDFEST..wetkids...wet people, but the libations were flowing for the kiddies and the adults and we tried very hard not to let it ruin the party! There are not many great pics b/c it was just so wild and so wet I did not even take one!

Very Very Excited!! Finally the time has come!

The Bobcat and excavator Martin brought from work. The kids loved it!! We tried to put a tent over it too!

The setup!! To some what keep us dry! Yes we set all this up in the rain!
The next problem we had was WORMS..yes worms..not just worms, monstrous gigantic worms. I have never seen any this big. They started popping up under the big tent first. I think they were drowned out of the ground b/c it literally rained for about three days straight. Of course the boys loved them..

This was supposed to be the sand pile that I buried over 150 bouncy balls in, but it turned into the mud pit!

The kids loved digging in it anyway.

This was when the wet muddy boys decided to come in and take over the house. Mud, toys, clothes, shoes, water everywhere!!

Trying to get the boys to calm down so the adults could have a little fun! This is Coop, Gracen, Grant and John.

The next morning John and Coop were enjoying some quite time..finally!

Now everyday Coop asks me what we are doing next year! I think we may skip it next year!! This was enough to make it through two bdays right??

San Fran and Napa

These are the pictures from our trip! There are about 200 so you can flip through and check some of them out. Sorry I have been MIA..we have had a wild two weeks. We had Cooper's 4th bday. I am calling the Shannon Mudfest! We left last Thursday with another couple and headed to San Francisco. We landed and I had one thing on my mind..H&M..my favorite place! I spent two hours there and walked out with bags and bags of clothes!! We went on a boat ride under the Golden Gate bridge, it was beautiful and very breezy. We ate good food and most importantly we drank wine from sun up to sun down! We went to Napa on Friday afternoon and prepared for a weekend full of wine tasting. We were picked up at 10 on Saturday morning and it all began! We visited many beautiful wineries and drank wonderful wine! My favorite this time was Patz and Hall. It was incredible wine. The chardonnay was $60 a bottle. I just could not bring my self to pay it. I do believe in nice expensive red wine pared with an incredible meal, but for me Chard is just for drinking! I knew if I would have bought one I would end up drinking it sitting on my back deck one day with friends! I did bring home my other favorite Robert Young, it is not that much cheaper at $40 a bottle, but it is worth it. I can not buy it anywhere here in Memphis. So as you can see by this post, we mostly drank wine! It was a great way to spend the big 30!

Lake

Ok the boats are ready and the lake is REALLY REALLY COLD! After much distress I went to the lake this past weekend. I love the lake in the summer, but when you can not be out on the water I get bored!! But Martin promised we could get out on the party barge for awhile and we took my in laws. These were my two "must haves" in order to go!! Well Saturday we got out on the boat, it was extremely windy and not as hot as I would have liked. Well Coop decided he was going to sit on the front of the boat and put his feet in..no big deal..he has been "boating" since he was an infant and always wears a life jacket. Plus I knew it was cold and he would not enjoy this for long..well a few minutes later, Libby (Nana) says very calmly..he is in the water..WHAT! I jump up and he is in fact in the water and completely scared to death! Water temp could not even be 60, especially out in the middle of the lake where it is at least 50 feet deep...I proceed to stick my leg out to try and get him to grab hold..well the wind is blowing and he is floating farther and farther away. At this point he is truly panicked, but yes does have a life jacket on! I hear Martin behind me say, get him Brooke, so in I went..dress and all..no life jacket. Background info: I do not do the water even in August when it is like taking a bath, I prefer to just sit and float and only get in the water when I need to tinkle!! So in I go, I hit that water and literally it was so cold I could not move. I swam towards Cooper thinking how in the world am I going to save him..he is the one in the life jacket! I grabbed him and pushed him as hard as I could towards the boat where Martin got him out then I swam towards the boat..Martin yanked me out so fast, but I still was completely frozen! Needless to say we went back in at this point! And I will not be back in the water till at least June, even if I need to go to the bathroom!!

On a lighter note, we did take Coop to ride a horse at a barn not far from our house. Last year we went and he rode Ol Dollar, this year he took a spin on Silver...

He was so proud..note the Cars boots..these are his lake "working boots" as he calls them. He loves to come work at the lake with his dad and Po Po.

Stay tuned this weekend..we are gearing up for the big 4th bday party this Sat in our backyard..Please say a prayer it does not rain!! It should be a big bash..Martin has really gotten into it. We are grilling out hot dogs and hamburgers, Martin got a keg and I bought a few cases of wine!!! Martin is bringing a bobcat and excavator from his work and I have made a construction site!!! Pics to come!!

Easter Bunny Came to Bendel Circle

The Easter bunny did come to our house..I did not get any really good pics b/c Coop was so excited about his goodies..2 Thomas movies(this was a no brainer), Star Wars Collection underoos(no they are not just Star Wars..you have to have the collection or it is not correct), bubbles, markers, a Train Sandwich cutter, and more stuff for Coop to dig up my backyard. The funny part about Coop digging is, he has a place that is his dirt whole, well it is where we lost a tree a few years back. He has dug so deep he is starting to dig up the root of the tree. Martin told him to keep on digging..Ive been waiting for 5 years to get that tree completely gone!!! Thanks Coop

Bunny Run

Yesterday we went to the Bunny Run. The Bunny Run is a 5k for Special Kids and Families here in Memphis, they do early intervention for special needs kids 0-3. The little baby I take care of a few hours a week is Emily. So we walked/pulled Coop in the wagon for Emily's Entourage!

Easter Egg Hunt

Coop had an Easter Egg hunt at school yesterday. It was very cute. Coop does not remember Easter last year so he was not really sure what to think!

This is Coops class waiting and getting the "riot act" from the other teacher about only getting 12 eggs!!
Please see sweet Ms Christina..look how little she is..That is Coops teacher and HE LOVES HER!! So do we. She has taught him a lot and most of all he loves going to school to see her. He wants to call her on the days he does not go to school b/c he misses her! And she lives around the corner so we walk and drive by her house(per his request)!!!

We went to church last night for Maundy Thursday service. You may not know what it is..but it is the night of Lords Super. It was a great service. Eli, our pastor, talked about Demes (sp?). He was one of the men that was nailed the cross with Jesus. He was the only man that admitted to his sins and told Jesus that he believed in Him. So Jesus replied that Demes would live in Paradise forever! Kind of interesting, never heard that story before. Anyway so I made Coop nap..here is Sleeping Beauty in my bed! I should have recorded a video b/c he snores as loud as his dad!

We had the best weekend. We went to Birmingham to see THE REAL THOMAS..Coop was in heaven. He thought it was the best thing ever! We rode up with Bob and Libby and met Stew, Kat, John and Larkin. I was excited that they could come. Coop really enjoyed seeing them. The weekend started out with a bang when Libby picked up the tickets and realized they were for Friday not Saturday! So after I shed a few tears the sweet people at the Heart of Dixie Railroad, told us to get there early because it was sold out but they would try their best to get us on a train! Well needless to say I was up at 6:30 and woke Coop up! We were there by 8:15 and it ended up being perfect. The rain stopped when we arrived and we were put on the first train of the day! Coop thought it was so great he just set and stared..Everyone was talking and he just keep telling us to be quiet..I think he was just taking it all in!!

One of Coops favorite parts was a giant tent with 6/7 train tables set up with every Thomas train ever made. This part really had Martin and Bob laughing b/c every child left this tent kicking and screaming!! Coop on the other hand left nicely with a bribe..we will go to the gift shop if you leave!!!!

Well whatever works..huh??

Grandparents Day..

Last Friday was Grandparents Day at St Dominic. It was so sweet, the kids sung songs about the seasons. Believe it or not Coop actually was singing. One time so loud you could hear him over the other kids and we are talking 6 other classes!! He was so excited. My mom (gega), Martins mom and dad (granddaddy and nana), Martin and I were all there. He was just beside himself waving at me and telling me how "bootiful" I am!!
Getting him dressed was another story. I had to bribe, plead, and beg for him to put on his Sunday Best! Coop hates clothes especially dress clothes!!
He got two new trains since I got him to school in his outfit!!

Notice the cute little Vineyard Vines shirt. My mother keeps him well dressed from that store!! The problem is when we got home he informed me that shirt was garbage and I needed to throw it away! I hope I can get him back in it for Easter! We will see!!

Two nights ago Coop informed me he did not get enough rest. Probably because he got out of his bed in the middle of the night and got in mine. Well I explained to him that his daddy had kept him up snoring all night!!! Needless to say, he stayed in his bed last night!! He likes to have his breakfast in his playroom on his table. Yes on the table..He does not sit at the table he sits On it. He told me he needed a pillow and a blanket to rest so I got him all set up..I gave him a few minutes and then told him he needed to eat. This is what I found...

As you all know Bailey has been my dog since college. She is a pain in the but and not very nice. But she has finally taken to Cooper, yes after 4 years..why you make ask?? Because he feeds her!!! Yes she does look like a pig these days..she is the biggest she has ever been, pushing almost 50pds. I like to blame it on the fact that she is sick and has a tumor..but I think she is just FAT!!!

I am tired of the mud as you will see below so Bailey and Beau have been in the kitchen lately. Bailey decided she did not like to lay on the hard tile..so she made her own bed!

Ok..fellow bloggers..Many of you have little boys that are in love with trains. But I have to say my child is IN LOVE WITH TRAINS!! And we have them all. We have all kinds of trains. We have Thomas wooden, Thomas die cast, Thomas battery operated and we own every GEO Trax remote control train that they have. We own almost all of the push trains and we have one plane. You may say WHY??? or SPOILED??? Well yes probably but he is obsessed and he knows all of their names. If you held up anyone at random he could tell you their name and tell you a fact about them. I am not kidding ask Emily!!

PS: Shan make sure you sister sees this and get on the Geo Trax website, you can order him a free video that tells all about the trains. It is a cartoon. Coop loves it!

I do not have any pics of Thomas, we do have a table full but he doesn't keep a big track set up.

Wish I would have thought quickly enough to get a pic of it in his hair, but he was freaking out. Then I was trying to unwind it and Coop just yanked it right out! No crying nothing!

Ok I have fallen off the wagon in the blog world. I read everyones daily, but I have been Facebooking!!! Now that the newness of that has worn off I am back. Also, I have been so bad about taking pictures of Mr. Coop!

I have to tell you, Coop has turned into such a sweetheart he has been so agreeable. He also tells me everyday I am so "bootiful". He is getting bigger and bigger by the minute. Here he is this am, hanging out relaxing before school.

A few more Christmas pics then I promise I will get into the Jan. and keep you updated on what we are doing.

Over Christmas, we took a trip to the Collierville square. And yes this is a trip! I know it is just a suburb, but goodness it is a long drive! And it is outside of my East Memphis Bubble, which is what I call it!

Anyway we went to the Tennesseein sp?? for lunch with Martins parents. As you all know by now, Coop loves trains, so we ate on the train. Coop thought it was the greatest thing. We then took a stroll around the square, sat in Santa's lap again (5th time). And yes we have hit them all over town, Ryan!! Wait till you see what Coop "roped" his granddaddy into buying! I do not know how he did it...but he loves them!!

This is what we made for Santa...Mom collects William Sonoma bunt pans. Yes I can make a cake stand up, believe it or not!!! I am a wanna be baker! So I decided Coop and I would make a Santa Cake to leave for Santa. Let me just tell you this one took 2 days and had way too many steps for a three year old!

Just for the record Coop did the decorating. I tried to help but he was not having it!

We had a Great Holiday in The Shannon family. It was a great ending to a wild December. We enjoyed spending time with all of our extended family. Coop enjoyed all the festivities but mostly the presents. He asks me everyday is it "Christmas Today". He does not understand that it is over. He cried and cried when I took the tree down.."no no I want it to be Christmas again".

Needless to say he received tons and tons of toys...mostly trains. Most people wouldn't even be able to keep it all straight, but Coop knows the names of every Geo Trax train and Thomas Train, plus he knows there purpose as a train, (for you who are new to the train world this means what they haul or what their jobs are on the train yard), he is also is very specific about which trains go together and which do not! It is a whole world to him and he is very paticular!!!

Well to start....The new business has a better name...Fashion Forward Denim. To say the least it is a full time job. I work day and night and many times I am up between 12am and 5 am working too!!! It has definitely consumed us lately. There have been many bumps, lost boxes from UPS is the biggest, but we have had a great response. Lots of positive feedback and lots of jean purchases! We have three more big parties before Christmas, then hopefully we can take a few days off. I want to share some pics with you. I have no pictures of Cooper with Santa. He has hated Santa until this year...now of course he understands the concept...sit in his lap, tell him what I want but then WHEN WILL HE DELIVER??? This is the question of the day..Cooper is having a hard time waiting for Christmas!!! So since he likes Christmas so much, he has been 3 times!!!!

I do have to say, he has learned so much about Jesus at his new school. I am glad he is in a Christian environment where he goes to Chapel weekly. He tells me about Jesus' Bday, that Mary and Joesph are his parents. He sings about Jesus and knows several prayers. But for now in his head Christmas is all about the presents, but he does like to hear about the True meaning of Christmas!!

Cooper has been singing Thanksgiving songs for weeks. I invited the whole family to come see him preform. Nana (martins mom), Granddaddy (martins dad), GeGa (my mom), MiMi..aka Aunt Judye (martins aunt), Coop can not get this one straight! I had a camera and a video camera charges and ready. I got there helped the mothers st up food and went to get my video camera ready...guess what..no blank tapes. I was not happy, but guess what Cooper got up there smiled, waved, set down, and then threw on his Coop face. Those of you who know him well..you know this face. I think I got a good pic of it. So needless to say he didn't sing, he didn't do anything but sit there!!!!

Yesterday, Martin was sick with the stomach bug that was going around so he was total out of commission. I had a ton of work to do plus a house that looked like a bomb had gone off. Needless to say Cooper was bored and sleep deprived from Thanksgiving! So around 3 I enticed him in the tub with a full bottle of shaving cream and just let him go to town. About 30 mins later I heard mommy I have a suprise for you...oh no..is there going to be shaving cream everywhere...well this is what I found.

More of the past two weeks

Ok so here is more of what we have done in the past two weeks...
Coop went to his first dentist appointment. Ok the dentist, is Uncle Jack, Martin's uncle. Not only are we spoiled to have a dentist in the family and can come in on very short notice, he also has three grand kids! He was great with Coop, he cleaned his teeth himself while Coop was sitting in his lap! That is what I call talent. I was so impressed. Coop is not cool with new things, especially unfamiliar things...he set right in his lap and let him clean his teeth. I was absolutely amazed! Good Job Uncle Jack!! It is funny because Coop has three toothbrushes, a Thomas one, a Spider one, and now a Uncle Jack toothbrush! I have to say it is a big decision each morning. The Uncle Jack toothbrush wins almost everyday!

Our Christmas Tree

Yes, Laugh all you want..we have put up our tree. I am almost done with the whole house. The funniest part is we still have a pumpkin on the dinning room table and a tree in the den. Guess we are feeling the holiday spirit this year!! All Coop has been talking about is Christmas and Santa. He hated Santa last year so I am so excited. He also keeps talking about Jesus...I think this comes from weekly chapel at school. He told me last week Jesus was the son of the Holy Spirit!!! He loves the Nativity scene that I have been collecting for years. I love the tree the most because every ornament we have has a meaning. My grandmother use to give me an ornament a year, I have them all since I was a young child. Libby(coops grandmother) and I now do the same for Cooper. We have Disney ornaments from our recent trip, you name it and I can tell you where it came from and why it is special. I even have ornaments that my old students made. I think this is what a tree should be...full of precious memories! Oh one funny one for you...one of my college best buds Laura gave me the best ornament ever and I still have it(although it is a little broken) its a short bus...I know your thinking how terrible..but when your special ed teacher you sometimes have to find the humor!!
So we decorated the tree, Coop just repeated how beautiful every ornament was, he has never used the word beautiful...so so cute. I enjoyed every minute of it. I had 2special ornaments for him this year so I told him to close his eyes while I got them out of my room. One was a train, James and the other was a firetruck from Disney with Goofy in it. Well he then told me to close my eyes because he had a special ornament for me...he went to his room and came back with an old pipe cleaner bracelet that he made last year at school! I told him it was beautiful and we hung it on the tree! See a tree is not about a color scheme or the perfect ornaments, it is special because of the memories it holds and the ones it creates! I hope you have a Merry Christmas even before Thanksgiving!!!!

I can not believe it has been a week since my last post..I do not know it just came and went! We went to the lake this weekend..I will blog about that later, but first lets talk about my new business adventure!

WOW It is already Thursday. Not much to report this week. I have been busy working on a new work adventure. More on that as the details fall into place. If those of you reading this have not checked out Love Loud Designs on the right of this page you need to do so ASAP. This week I have received a few of the necklaces that people ordered from my party..I have to say they are so cute! Everyone seems so happy with them, now I have to get on there and order mine! The brains behind the operation is my friend Emily, I am very impressed with the buisness sense she has all the sudden shown! Who knew? I guess we all have many talents that we do not even know we have. Well today is picture day. I am about to go wake Coop up now...this is the first time all week he has slept past 6. He has been so out of whack with the time change. I knew moms always talk about this with their kids but I always thought it sounded so silly. Well Coop is truly off! Wonderful Weekend!!

Yes it has truly been a wonderful weekend! I have been home alone all weekend. Yes home alone, no boys at all. Martin and Coop headed to the lake to see my father, aka PoPo. See Coop doesn't care anything about Halloween..he doesn't really like the costume and he doesn't eat candy so when given the option to stay here and do Halloween or go to the lake, he grabbed his Cars boots and work gloves then was in the truck before I could get his bagged packed!! So, I cleaned the house from top to bottom, actually one of my fav things to do. Hit the liquor store for some wine and visited some neighbors before finally ending up at Em's house. We had a great time. She introduced me to facebook and got me caught up on who has a baby and so on. Goodness you can find out anything you ever wanted to know about someone on there. WILD! Saturday my mom and I took Petie to lunch, we had such a nice time. It really was great! Then I napped and had a great dinner with another mom in Coops class at River Oaks. I've read the paper in bed and talked on the phone continuously. Now I'm headed to the grocery store and ready to enjoy the rest of the day by myself!!

Hi Everyone,
Long time no type!!
First things first....does anyone know how to make this background solid so you don't see it through the pictures or posts. I want the dark green part to not be translucent. If you can help shoot me an email or comment!
My mom and I had a great time in Starkville. I have to tell you though my mom made reservations at this old hotel because it was a game weekend and no reservations were to be found. So my mom and I thought...Oh it couldn't be that bad...it is probably just old. Well Mallory my sister called Friday and said I found you guys a new room, you are not going to want to stay at the University Inn. Well mom and I thought it doesn't matter...not worth $100 more. Well were we wrong...first we pull up and the place is literally falling apart, we get our room key, yes a key...what hotel still has keys...we drive around and quickly realize people actually live in this place. There were grills outside some of the rooms and men sitting out in front of there rooms. Well we open the door and the bed was broken, head board slit, nasty smell and a black sink. I looked at my mom and said not just no but HELL NO!! So we got in the car and left immediately. The crazy part is the manager didn't even argue about giving our money back...guess he knew. I swear I felt like I was on Lamar at an hourly hotel!!!
On a lighter note, my sister looked great! She ate like a champ!! And she had a date to the football game that night.. Very cool, huh?? I will try to get the picture of my mom, mal, and I at the sorority brunch, it is really cute.
On the way back we hit New Albany and discovered this great little gift store called Southern Traditions. Great stuff and great prices...we plan to visit again soon.

Oh guess what, my student got his trach out yesterday and maybe coming home by the end of the week. I am so excited and so proud of how hard he has fought to get well. Have to say there for a week or so many people(including Dr's) didn't think he would make it.

I always thought I was the guilty working mom but now I think I am the guilty non working mom! I feel like I have to do Everything all the time since I now do not work full time. I volunteer for everything, I send in everything the teacher requests the day it is requested. Which brings us to the cute pumpkin above....this weekend is Octoberfest at Coops school, I am working a shift on Sunday to volunteer, I baked all day yesterday for the bake sale and made this cute (if I do say..the cutest) pumpkin. Now here comes the guilty overachiever non working mom part...my pumpkin had to be the best! I do not have an excuse to not spend many hours working on it right??? We are entering it in the Pumpkin Alley contest at school, I am anxious to see what everyone else does. I have a feeling although I think it is absolutely adorable, I know there are probably other moms that also wanted their kids pumpkin to be the BEST!

Many of you would probably say none of this is any different from when I worked full time!! And you are probably right.

But anyway it is another wild Friday...taking care of baby Emily for a few hours, meeting this afternoon and then headed to MSU to see my sister. It is homecoming this weekend and my mom and I are headed down. I wasn't really looking forward to another weekend away but I do think this one will be relaxing and not so much going as fast as I can to get it all done!

We had a great weekend..it is just such a long drive to Knoxville and nonstop once you get there so we have been worn out. Coop was sick on Friday with a fever and vomiting so that delayed us leaving by a few hours..till we got him feeling better and now last night he was up coughing! Always something! I was really looking forward to getting some errands done today. I also was looking forward to heading to the hospital today to see one of former students. He has been in the ICU for several weeks now...he has a trachea and got off the vent yesterday. Well the sweetest thing happened to me on Friday..I get a phone call from his father asking me if I could come by the hospital, I explained that I was in the car headed to Knoxville but was concerned about what was going on...he went on to tell me my student had been really agitated trying to tell them something so they got a message board and he typed BROOKE SHANNON, all he wanted was for me to come see him. I have to say I started crying instantly. You just never know the effect you have on other peoples lives. You do not realize the little seemingly not important things...that really effect another person. So I am off to the hospital...have a great day

Just like last week...I love Friday!! Last night we had a huge turn out at my house for the Jeans, Lala Land, and Love Loud party. We sold a ton of jeans and would have sold even more if she would have had more! Of course the stationary order were nonstop, everyone seems to love LaLa Land! I was even able to create a new card not in the books for a picture from our recent Disney trip, I am very excited! And my friend Emily got huge response with the necklaces, mant of you wanted to show it to your husband so he could order for Christmas...look to the right and click on LOVE LOUD DESIGNS and it will take you straight to their store. Today we are off to Knoxville to see the VOLS play. I am beyond excited because I haven't been to a game in 3 years. Martin and I are leaving Cooper here with family and we are headed out. We have every meal planned out so we can hit all of our college favs! I have also promised my hubby no fraternity parties! For those of you who haven't heard this story I will fill you in...3 years ago when I was last at a game, I begged and begged Martin to go to the Figi house...see Martin was a Figi and I used to be well known around there because we dated in college for a long time. SO I walk in and I am so excited until I soon realize nobody knows me anymore and nobody cares who I am! It all came to end with me getting in beeper(pledges who drive actives so they do not drink and drive) and discovering that the pledge driving the car was in 7th grade when I graduated from college!! Needless to say I quickly learned I am TOO OLD for the fraternity houses! Have a great weekend....OFF TO SEE THE VOLS PLAY!

Coops teacher Ms. Christina brought him to the car today and said...he's not sick but he threw up. Coop was on the playground and he was pushing a heavy wheelbarrow, when it happened. He ran to Ms. Christina and said...my throat came out, she said what and he said my tongue came out...she said oh did you throw up and he said yeah thats it I threw up!!! LOL
Anyway he just had a little reflux and he is fine!!

Its Tuesday and it already feels like it has been a long week! I rush around like a crazy person every morning because I just have a couple of hours to myself while Coop is at school. This am I went to the dr, hit Target, Walmart, mall, furniture store, Micheals, and the post office...all between 9 and 11:30! I am used to working and like I said I can get a lot done in a short amount of time.
Has anyone started thinking about Christmas this year...I know Make Art Everyday has, she has written about it recently. I was thinking I am really going to cut back on what Santa and mommy buy this year. My child is a spoiled rotten mess and the problem is it is all my fault... I mean the child gets a new something about every few days! I know you are thinking what is wrong with me...I am not talking a big fun toy, but more so just something, Dollar Store crap...new train, etc. I did however buy him one of those "My First Computer" by Fisher Price, it plugs into the TV and plays games. I thought it looked really cool and it was on sale for $44 at Walmart, rolled back from $59!!! Get it Rolled Back...anyone who shops at Walmart does! But then yesterday we went to a friends house and they have one of those handheld Leapsters and the mom said it was fabulous and much better because it is portable. So here is my question...does anyone have either of these. If so how are they? I can not stand to buy a toy and it doesn't get played with....as you can imagine we have a house full of toys that do not get played with! I did order Coop a computer game from his school and I was proud of myself for putting it up and not giving it to him right away. Coop being spoiled is all my fault, I take full blame!! I cant help myself!!!!

OK Its football Saturday! First you need to know a little secret...I care nothing about football! I just like everything that goes with it. I love appetizers, I love to cook, I love to drink wine, I love to wear orange and put the flag on my car! But the actual game....not so important to me. I will probably just hang outside with the many kids that soon be running around my house! Like I said the more the merrier. Have a great Saturday doing whatever makes you happy! I'm going to be cooking and cleaning my house for the third time this week...which leads to my next secret...I love to clean and I do it obsessively!

Thank Goodness Its Friday...I love Friday's. I am not like most people I love them, love them. I am not tired and I love the beginning of the weekend! Our weekend is full as usual, Coop has friends coming over from school today and tomorrow we are having a cookout to watch the Vols play. For the sake of my husband I hope they play!!! If it was up to me we would have a house full everyday, the kids, the people, the mess...none of it bothers me. I have an open door policy and the more the merrier is my motto! I am making this fabulous new recipe from Rachel Ray, its called French Onion Bites. If they turn out well I will post the recipe. I'm off to clean the house....

Headed for a flu shot....
First I want to talk about my new favorite thing...ear plugs. OK my hubby snores so bad he can be heard all over the house, I have tried everything from lots of Tylenol PM to making him sleep on the couch, to snore strips and spray...but nothing works. So I bought ear plugs. I have to say they work, I am a little reluctant because I am afraid I will not hear Coop in the night, but everyone says a mother always hears their child! I am using these little orange cone ones...I can't decide if they hurt my ears or if I am just getting used to them. Any suggestions?? Anybody living with an awful snorer???
